He chose to live alone. He was compassionate as well. I once tried to get to his house in a blizzard and had to spend the night out in a snow cave I dug. After I figured out where I was I went back to Zoar and dried all my clothes that were caked with ice. I went to see Edward and I told him the story, I was ashmed. He said he was coming back from Nain by dog team. The weather turned ugly so he wrapped himself up in a tarp and held onto the komatik. He kept yelling at the dogs to move forward but they had stopped and curled up, given up he thought because of the weather. He stayed like that until daylight and when he unwrapped from his tarp and stood up he realized that the dogs had taken him to his front door on their own.
